Grace is an expert crocheter and loves turning yarn into heartfelt gifts. She also enjoys beach walks with George the bulldog, cooking up new dishes, and lighting a bonfire with palm leaves for fun (and a bit of cleanup!).
-
Most people are surprised to find out she crochets — she makes personalised gifts for loved ones instead of buying things they could just get themselves.
-
“Helping someone isn’t always about tasks. Sometimes it’s listening, sharing a story, having a laugh — or even a good cry. It’s about connection.”
-
“One participant shared her breast cancer journey with me. Her honesty, strength, and vulnerability were incredible — it reminded me we all have hard days, and that supporting one another matters more than ever.”
-
George, her bulldog, wakes her up with a tap and a grunt for breakfast — sardines are his favourite (not hers!). After breakfast, it’s walk time — and George’s joy spreads to everyone he meets.
-
George’s morning tap on the head — it’s his signature way to say “let’s get up and go!”
